Public Safety Officer (Police Officer)

The Police Officer is vital to ensuring the safety and welfare of the University of Arkansas campus community. Police Officers are responsible for the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws and parking regulations. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma 

  • Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license 

  • Must be certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement Certification Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-106, or be able to become certified within one (1) year of hire date

  • Must successfully pass departmental background/security clearance investigation

Telecommunications Specialist (Dispatcher)

The Telecommunications Specialist is responsible for performing emergency and non-emergency dispatch and/or communication services. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Security Officer

The Security Officer provides a variety of security and safety related functions while involved in safeguarding students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position provides security for equipment and real property in assigned areas. The Security Officer communicates effectively and respectfully with members of the campus community, supervisors, and peers. This position provides information and directions as needed. May be assigned to a specific zone or geographical work area. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

  • A high school diploma or the formal education equivalent

  • Must successfully pass departmental background/security clearance investigation
